What changes can I expect this year?

Public safety and the well-being of our guests has always been, and will continue to be, our number one priority. Please be sure to follow our social media pages and check our website frequently for updates.

We are doing everything we can to assure the safest, healthiest, most guest-friendly event possible, which includes temporary adjustments to create a larger footprint for more seating space and physical distancing, adding extra trash receptacles, recycle bins, and hand sanitizer/wash stations. Other changes include less touchpoints such as cashless ticketing. We are re-imagining everything and finding ways to provide the one-of-a-kind ballooning experience the National Balloon Classic is known for.

The following Special Events/activities are cancelled in 2021:

  • The National Balloon Classic Parade

  • Kids Land activities

  • Dawn Patrol

  • Nite Glow’s will remain an important part of the 2021 National Balloon Classic; however, Spectators must remain seated and will not be permitted onto the launch field.

We encourage those who are not vaccinated to please wear a mask when near crowds/lines. Please bring your own face coverings and maintain appropriate physical distancing when not seated with your group. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. By visiting the National Balloon Classic, you are acknowledging that you are, on behalf of yourself or any invitees, voluntarily assuming all risks related to exposure of COVID-19 or any other disease. Please visit the Center for Disease Control and Prevention for the most current recommendations on large gatherings.

The National Balloon Classic Memorial Balloon Field is an open, landscaped field. Chairs are not provided or available to rent. Bring your own lawn chair or blanket. Pop-up tents are not allowed.
