COVID-19 Update

Is the National Balloon Classic happening?
Yes, it is! The National Balloon Classic returns July 30-August 7, 2021.

What changes can I expect this year?
Public safety and the well-being of our guests has always been, and will continue to be, our number one priority. We are doing everything we can to assure the safest, healthiest, most guest-friendly event possible, which includes creating a larger footprint for the event by limiting the number of spectators on the field each day and expanding fence lines to create more seating space. Other changes include less touchpoints and more touching moments. We are re-imagining everything and finding ways to provide the one-of-a-kind ballooning experience the National Balloon Classic is known for.

The following Special Events/activities are cancelled in 2021:

  • The National Balloon Classic Parade

  • Kids Land activities

  • Dawn Patrol

  • Nite Glow’s will remain an important part of the 2021 National Balloon Classic; however, Spectators must remain seated and will not be permitted onto the launch field.

Are masks required?
As of now, we expect that masks will be required by all guests when entering/exiting and moving about (visiting concessions, gift shop, restrooms, etc.). Once you are seated with your group, you may remove your mask at your discretion.

Can I get a refund if event is cancelled?
All events at the National Balloon Classic are dependent on prevailing weather conditions and subject to weather delays or cancellations. No refunds or wind/rain checks if weather is unsafe for balloons to inflate, fly, and land safely determined by the parameters set by the FAA and the manufacturer of the aircraft. Times are approximate and schedule may change without notice. Unused tickets are not refundable; however, if public safety dictates the closing of the entire 9-day, 2021 National Balloon Classic, a full refund for pre-purchased tickets will be granted.

As we get closer to the event, our COVID-19 mitigation plan may be altered as new data becomes known. Please be sure to follow our social media pages and check our website frequently for updates.
