Scott Wooge- Wooge You Like to Fly?

Scott Wooge has three decades of piloting experience under his belt and can’t even remember how many National Balloon Classics he has participated in but predicts somewhere around eight. This year, he’ll be flying his balloon, “Double Trouble”.

Wooge’s favorite part about the National Balloon Classic is developing friendships with local balloonists; family and great flying bring him back to the National Balloon Classic year after year.

“I have lots of ‘family’ around me here. I will be flying as a back-up pilot for Aaron and Jim Gebhart in the afternoon,” says Wooge.

The fun and challenge of hot air ballooning has kept Wooge inspired over the past 30 years. He says that the biggest lesson he’s learned in his experience as a hot air balloon pilot is that “Everyone makes mistakes. Fix them and move on.”
